Ann Brewington Collection. [1984-1987]

The collection consists primarily of a few letters to Ann Brewington between 1984 and 1987, regarding Ida Pittman's death. This collection also contains a letter from Florence Cahlan and copies of letters sent to Cahlan about an article she had written on Ida Brewington Pittman. The collection includes another article about Pittman that appeared in the December 2, 1984, Nevadan and has a few hand-written notes in the margins, as do a few of the letters.

Ann Brewington taught business education at the University of Chicago from 1923 until her retirement in 1954. She relocated to Las Vegas and taught at the University of Nevada, Southern Regional Division until 1961. In 1981 she was awarded the Distinguished Nevadan citation. Ida Brewington Pittman was a high-school teacher in Tonopah, Nevada. She organized the first orchestra and chorus in the Tonopah Schools. She married Vail Pittman in 1919.
